Toby Bares, who built the UW-Oshkosh men's soccer team into one of the top country's NCAA Division III programs, has stepped down after 26 years.
Bares compiled a 344-99-38 record with the Titans after starting the program in 1984, leading the team to 11 NCAA tournament appearances and three Final Four berths. He couldn't be reached for comment on Wednesday.

Scott Lorenz, a regular in the University of Wisconsin's lineup the past three seasons, started training camp with the NSC Minnesota Stars of the USSF Division II Pro League today in the Twin Cities.
Lorenz was a second-team All-Big Ten Conference pick in 2008 and '09 as a forward for the Badgers, but is looking to make the Stars' inaugural roster as an outside defender, Inside Minnesota Soccer reported.
The Barrington, Ill., native started out as a left back at UW, and also saw some time in the midfield before settling in up top – Lorenz scored 10 of his 14 career goals as a junior in 2008. |
