Prep girlsMadison Edgewood and Milton shared the Southern Badger Conference girls soccer championship this spring, and the teams shared the top honors on the all-conference team.

The Crusaders and Red Hawks, who each finished 5-1, had four players apiece named to the team voted on by conference coaches.

Four of those players were among the seven unanimous selections: junior midfielder Hannah Elfman and junior defender Lorraine Guerin for Edgewood and senior defender Val Arnold and sophomore midfielder Sara Spaulding for Milton.

Monona Grove senior defender Megan Blazer and junior midfielder Kaitlyn Fritsch also were unanimous picks, as was Oregon junior midfielder Kali Jahn – all four midfielders and three of four defenders were unanimous choices.

Elfman, Arnold, Blazer and Milton senior forward Amber Davis all made the top team for the second consecutive season. Guerin, Fritsch and Edgewood senior forward Claire Kinderman moved up to the first team after being second-team picks in 2009.

Senior goalkeeper Sloane Hecimovich was the Red Hawks' other first-teamer, while defender JoJo Chryst rounded out the Crusaders' choices – she was the only freshman on the team.
