 Conference champion Waunakee landed 10 players on the All-Northern Badger Conference teams, including five on the 11-member first team chosen by league coaches.
Senior defender Brandon Ruchti led the Warriors' large contingent on the honor teams, as he was one of three unanimous picks — DeForest senior Sam Ramirez and Mount Horeb sophomore Patrick Ruhland, both midfielders, were the others.
Ruchti was joined on the first team by junior goalkeeper Corry Hinz (0.74 goals-against average, 10 shutouts), senior defender Justin Tallard, senior midfielder Nick Kliminski (7-1-15) and junior midfielder Kevin Fong (8-1-17) for Waunakee, which went 18-3-1 overall and finished 5-0-1 to win its third straight Northern Badger title.
Ramirez was the only player to make the top team for the second straight year. Conference runner-up Mount Horeb and DeForest each had two first-teamers.
Each of the conference's top three scorers overall were on the first team: Reedsburg senior forward Kevin Sorenson (17-7-41), Sauk Prairie senior forward Tyler Fuchs (15-5-35) and Ruhland (13-9-35). Fuchs was a second-team choice last fall.
